Mrs. Williamson began her career in television in 2000 at a small station in Clio, Michigan, WEYI-NBC 25. While working there, she gained her most valuable skills by learning as much of the industry as she could. In just one short year, she landed her first job in the metro-Detroit market at WKBD/UPN in Southfield, Michigan. After working there a few months, she accepted a job at the ABC-affiliate, WXYZ in 2002. She worked at both stations until WKBD/UPN stopped their news production in late 2002. She began her teaching career in 2008, remaining at WXYZ until 2010. Mrs. Williamson began teaching Radio & TV Broadcasting at GASC Technology Center in Flint, Michigan. She accepted a position at West Bloomfield High School in West Bloomfield, Michigan in 2014 and is still teaching Radio & TV Broadcasting there. In addition to teaching, she also freelances when interesting projects become available.
Mrs. Williamson is also on the board of two non-profits. She has been a part of DAFT (Digital Arts, Film, and Television) since 2011. She joined the board in 2014 and became Secretary in 2015. She still holds this position. In 2021, she joined the MIPA (Michigan Interscholastic Press Association) board as a Trustee. She is also the referent group leader for Radio & TV Production through Oakland Schools.
